This training is committed to making you a confident and empowered teacher. The mornings will be spent focusing on you and your yoga practice so that you can continue to advance and further build depth and understanding of the asana (postures) and the subtle energetics of the practice. In the afternoons you’ll spend a lot of time working on important aspects of teaching, from intelligent sequencing and clear, effective cueing, to practicing skilful hands on assists. You will learn thorough grounding in anatomy that is modern, digestible, and relatable. With this knowledge it will further inform teaching your students purposefully and with longevity. Through homework, reading, on demand learning, and group discussions about yoga philosophy, history and self-inquiry, you will also develop a lot of insight into the depth and history of this practice too.

You will come away learning to confidently teach all level yoga classes, but also grasp how to tailor your sequences effectively depending on your teaching objectives, and importantly how to do so with fun, creativity, and passion!

3. TO ADVANCE THE TOTALITY OF YOUR PRACTICE

Yes you will come away from the course deepening your awareness and understanding of the physical postures, but also yoga more broadly also. The time away from the practical weekends between each module will be a chance to reflect on what you have learnt and slowly integrate and absorb the broader philosophical teachings and more subtle energetics of the discipline also.

4. TO navigate THE BUSINESS SIDE OF YOGA SO THAT YOU CAN TEACH WITH LONGEVITY

Plenty of time will be spent gaining skills to navigate the business side of teaching yoga so that once qualified, you can start to successfully, honestly, and skilfully offer your teachings to the market inline with your vision, values, and personal definition of 'success’.

5. HYBRID ON DEMAND LEARNING to fit into your life

For this year’s yoga teacher training in Dubai we are combining the benefits of in person group learning with that of at home and self-paced study for the history and philosophy portion of the training with Ema. This means you can fit the learning into your life so that you can study in bitesized and digestible chunks on a steady on going basis. You will have life time access to these modules so you can keep going back after the course has finished.

6. ASSESSMENTS, CONSIDERED feedback & FINAL TEACHING PRACTICAL

Further hours of the course will be non-contact in which you will be expected to complete a digestible written assignment that you can fit into your life, and on-going reflective homework and practice. A reading and podcast list will be issued for before and during the course which you can work through at your own pace and again fit into your life. Final examination will be a practical observation of you teaching a class to other course participants on the last weekend of the course. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time practising teaching and getting considered feedback from me before then! There will be a closing ceremony and importantly a celebration of your achievements afterwards! The course is Yoga Alliance US accredited.

ABOUT YOUR LEAD TEACHER - ALICE GRAY

I'm Alice, and my mission is to guide and empower you on your journey to becoming the confident yoga teacher you've always envisioned. Over the course of my 8-year career as a yoga teacher and anatomy specialist, I have cultivated a deep passion for empowering students through an embodied and intuitive approach to teaching. It is an honour to train people to teach yoga. Having worked with over 90 teachers to date I find this work of mine a joy and something that I don’t take lightly.

You can expect from me an energetic practise that sensitively balances precision and stability, and also fluidity and creativity.  My aim for students is to come away creating a greater sense of awareness, to explore new movement patterns, and to tap into a sense of embodiment and intuition.

As well as a yoga teacher, I am a lover of many styles of movement, and fascinated by the human body and its mystery. The type of student that is drawn to my trainings are open minded, curious and caring, lover of knowledge, and seeker of seeing different perspectives. My favourite yoga quote is from Judith Lasater: ‘teach people, not poses.’

MEET YOUR PHILOSOPHY TEACHER - EMA CUBIKINA

I am Ema, and I am specialist teacher of yoga history and philosophy and I passionately believe that philosophy is sharply relevant to our lives. My classes are engaging, modern, practical, community driven, and fun. I study yoga through close reading, sanskrit recitation, discussion, kirtan, and embodied practice, and have recently begun my study of Sanskrit with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies in 2021. I have been passionate about yoga history and philosophy since the beginning of my yoga journey and run community driven monthly philosophy clubs. Through connection, curiosity and critical thinking I strive to bring yoga philosophy truly to life.
