SCOTLAND YOGA TEACHER TRAINING 2026 with alice gray - NOW OPEN
TRANSFORM YOUR PASSION FOR YOGA with teaching.
Whether you’re stepping into teaching for the first time, or joining to refine or go deeper with the way you already teach, this training is designed to give you depth, clarity, and inspiration that lasts.
When this yoga teacher training course finishes you will be a genuine, passionate, and knowledgeable yoga teacher, where you will have dived deeper into this tradition and learnt so much more about yourself. You will walk away with skills to confidently teach your unique style of yoga, and will embody your own personal approach and techniques to empower yourself and your own students. Just as importantly, you will have dived deeper into the tradition of yoga and your connection to yourself and others.
This programme is in depth, meaningful, carefully considered, rich, and full of lively insight in to how to turn your passion for yoga into an individual and fulfilling career. Study from someone that has been teaching yoga and movement for well over a decade, and trained over 160 teachers to date.
This training is designed for two types of people.
For those stepping into teaching for the first time, and those who are ready to evolve the way they already teach. You might be here because you feel the pull to go deeper. Or because something in your current teaching feels limited, repetitive, or disconnected from how you actually think about the body and this practice.
Either way, this is not a training built on scripts, formulas, or fixed ways of doing things. It is a space to develop real understanding: of movement, of anatomy, and of what it means to guide other people through practice in a way that is intelligent, adaptable, and truly your own.
One: You’re new to teaching
You love yoga and feel ready to go deeper. You don’t just want to just learn how to sequence a class, you want to understand what you’re doing and why. You’re looking for a training that is robust and meaningful, supports you truly, and starts with teaching skills that will build you as a confident teacher right from the start. This programme will equip you with 200hrs of high quality study that you can use to start teaching, and take your forward in the rest of your teaching journey. You don’t need to be flexible or ‘advanced’, just curious.
Two: You’re already a teacher
You’ve done a training before, maybe several. But something still feels incomplete. You want more clarity, more depth, and a way of teaching that actually reflects how you see the body and this practice, rather than feeling stuck repeating what you were taught. You are ready for new inspiration, and ways to begin thinking outside of the box and going further both personally in your practice but also your professional career.
THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU IF
You’re ready to either begin sharing or really start trusting your voice.
You want to teach yoga authentically like YOU, with solid tools and concepts, no formulas and scripts.
You love yoga but you also feel there must be more to yoga than what you’ve been shown so far.
You’re curious, questioning, and love to critique the status quo.
You wish to learn a modern approach to this practice that still roots itself strongly in tradition and self-inquiry.
You want to learn about the most relevant and up to date anatomy and physiology.
You want a facilitator that will continue to support you after the course has finished.
You care about teaching in a way that is thoughtful, responsible, real, yet also confident and creative.
You want to step into an embodied approach to exploring this practice.
For those stepping into teaching for the first time.
and for those ready to really evolve how they teach.
A NEW MODERN FORMAT OF YTT.
This teacher training format has been curated to get the best of both worlds: an immersive training experience while also fitting your studies into your busy life. The course will start with a six full day immersion (The Yoga Barn, Glasgow), followed by extensive and fully supported online study (Exploration), two days of consolidating the learning including assessment and graduation (The Integration), finishing with post-course six months of structured 1-2-1 mentorship included within the programme (Follow-up).
THE IMMERSION:
The course is running as an initial six days of immersive study in Glasgow Thursday 1st to Tuesday 6th October 2026. This gives the opportunity for you to step away from your every day life and immerse yourself fully in the practice of yoga. Expect morning practice, theory, group work, and a whole six days dedicated to immersing in and teaching yoga.
THE EXPLORATION:
After your immersion you will be set up on an extensive online platform for you to study on demand and self paced over October - March. This allows then for you to fit your studies in around your every day life. On demand training content will be unlocked fortnightly and will include:
Lectures and presentations on in depth teaching methodology.
Thorough anatomy video tutorials.
Further resources and suggested watching and reading.
Weekly yoga classes and step by step class breakdowns.
Mini optional homework submissions with tailored 1-2-1 feedback.
Fortnightly zoom calls to consolidate learning and ask questions.
Lifetime access to the content after the course has finished to allow you to keep going back and re-absorbing.
THE INTEGRATION:
Following the exploration we will meet online Friday 5th to Sunday 7th March 2027 for three days to practice and study together. You will consolidate your learning, practice teaching, and do your final assessments and graduation.
See below what others had to say about the structure of the programme.

How this training is different
This training develops how you think, observe, and adapt, not how you follow a script. You won’t be handed a formula for every class, because real teaching isn’t fixed. Instead, you’ll learn how to make clear decisions, respond to the person in front of you, and build classes grounded in understanding, not repetition.
This is a training in both learning and unlearning. If you’re new to this journey: you’ll gain a clear, supportive framework to begin teaching with confidence. If you’re already teaching: you’ll refine, and where needed challenge, the habits, cues, and patterns you may have never had the space to question.
Expect from the programme to:
Build real confidence in how you teach, whether you’re starting out or refining your voice
Learn to teach all levels with clarity, creativity, and intelligent adaptation
Develop your practice as a whole, not just the physical
Understand anatomy in a way that is relevant, current, and actually usable in your teaching
Create and sequence classes with purpose, not guesswork or templates
Receive honest, considered feedback and personalised support throughout
Continue growing with six months of 1:1 mentorship after you qualify
Study in a way that fits your life with a hybrid, on-demand structure
Explore philosophy in a way that feels grounded in real life, not abstract
Navigate the yoga industry with clarity, integrity, and longevity in mind
Feel equipped and motivated to start sharing your work from the beginning
Be part of meaningful conversations about teaching, the industry, and your place within it

Ema
I am specialist teacher of yoga history and philosophy (they/them) and I passionately believe that philosophy is sharply relevant to our lives. My classes are engaging, modern, practical, community driven, and fun. I study yoga through close reading, sanskrit recitation, discussion, kirtan, and embodied practice, and have recently begun my study of Sanskrit with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies in 2021. Through connection, curiosity and critical thinking I strive to bring yoga philosophy truly to life.
Dina
Dina (she/her) is a Palestinian healer and guide deeply passionate about women’s health, energy, movement, and decolonising wellness. She creates thoughtful, compassionate and nurturing spaces where you’re invited to show up fully and be held as your whole, beautifully imperfect self. Her work is shaped by the needs and experiences that arise within our community, guided by a deep connection to spirit, energy and intuitive insights.

FAQS
Who is this training for?
This training is for both brand new teachers who have not yet done a training and those who have already completed a 200hr. It is for anyone who wants to go deeper, not just into teaching, but into how they relate to yoga, their students, and themselves.
I am already a qualified yoga teacher. Why would I do this instead of a 300hr?
Because this is not about accumulating more hours, it is about refining how you teach. This training focuses on how you apply what you already know. Your voice, your decision making, your sequencing, your ability to read a room. If you feel like you have learned a lot but still do not fully trust yourself when you teach, this is where that shifts.
Will I feel out of place if I am a new teacher?
No, but you might feel stretched in a good way. You along with others will be learning alongside more experienced teachers, which means you are exposed to real questions, real teaching challenges, and real growth from the start. On the flip side, new teachers often bring a freshness that experienced teachers can lose touch with.
Will I feel held back if I am an experienced teacher?
No. You will not be repeating what you already know. You will be invited to unlearn, refine, and question your habits. This is not about going over basics, it is about seeing them differently and working with more depth.
What makes this training different from other 200hr YTTs?
This is not a formula based training. You will not be taught the right way to sequence or teach. You will be guided to understand why you are making choices so you can teach in a way that is actually yours. It is slower, deeper, and more reflective than most trainings.
Do I need to want to teach to join?
No, some people join to teach, others to deepen their practice. Both are welcome and very valid.
What if I do not feel confident teaching yet?
Then this is exactly the place to begin. Confidence is not something you arrive with, it is something that builds through practice, reflection, and support as you find your voice.
What style of yoga will I learn?
You will not be trained into a fixed style. You will explore principles of movement, sequencing, and teaching that can be applied across styles so you are not limited by one approach.
Is this training very anatomy focused?
Yes, but in a way that directly supports your teaching. Rather than memorising information, you will learn how to use anatomy to make decisions, adapt practices, and understand the bodies in front of you. We also extensively cover methodology, business, ethics, philosophy, and sequencing.
What if I have done a YTT before and felt disconnected from it?
That can be more common than you think. This training gives space to question what you were taught, reconnect to what feels true, and rebuild your approach in a way that actually makes sense in practice.
Will I be given sequences to teach?
You will explore sequencing, but not in a copy and paste way. The aim is that you do not leave relying on someone else’s sequence. You leave understanding how to create your own.
Is the training Yoga Alliance certified?
Yes. The training is certified by Yoga Alliance US. If you choose to register with them afterwards, you can qualify as an RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher 200hr).
I am concerned my practice is not strong enough. Am I ready?
We care more about your willingness to learn and your capacity to relate than the depth of your physical practice. As long as you have a regular practice, are familiar with foundational shapes, and are committed to learning more about yoga, you are ready.
What do I need to do to prepare for the training?
The main preparation is an open mind and a willingness to learn. You will receive a reading and podcast list on sign up, which you do not need to complete beforehand. Work through it at your own pace before, during, and after the training. Keep your regular yoga practice going and, if possible, try different classes and teachers to experience variety. Let it fit around your life rather than becoming something separate from it.
I am pregnant, can I do the training?
Yes. Your teacher is specialist pregnancy trained and you can continue to participate fully in the practices. By the end of the training you will also know how to confidently adapt your own practice and support pregnant students in general classes.
