SCOTLAND YOGA TEACHER TRAINING 2026 with alice gray - NOW OPEN

TRANSFORM YOUR PASSION FOR YOGA with teaching.

Whether you’re stepping into teaching for the first time, or joining to refine the way you already teach, this training is designed to give you depth, clarity, and inspiration that lasts.

When this yoga teacher training course finishes you will be a genuine, passionate, and knowledgeable yoga teacher, where you will have dived deeper into this tradition and learnt so much more about yourself. You will walk away with skills to confidently teach your style of yoga, and will embody your own personal unique approach and techniques to empower yourself and your own students. Just as importantly, you will have dived deeper into the tradition of yoga and your connection to yourself and others.

This programme is in depth, meaningful, carefully considered, rich, and full of lively insight in to how to turn your passion for yoga into an individual and fulfilling career. Study from someone that has been teaching yoga and movement for well over a decade, and trained over 150 teachers to date.

This training is designed for two types of people.

For those stepping into teaching for the first time, and those who are ready to evolve the way they already teach. You might be here because you feel the pull to go deeper. Or because something in your current teaching feels limited, repetitive, or disconnected from how you actually think about the body and this practice.

Either way, this is not a training built on scripts, formulas, or fixed ways of doing things. It is a space to develop real understanding: of movement, of anatomy, and of what it means to guide other people through practice in a way that is intelligent, adaptable, and truly your own.

One: You’re new to teaching

You love yoga and feel ready to go deeper. You don’t just want to just learn how to sequence a class, you want to understand what you’re doing and why. You’re looking for a training that is robust and meaningful, supports you truly, and starts with teaching skills that will build you as a confident teacher right from the start.

Two: You’re already a teacher

You’ve done a training before, maybe several. But something still feels incomplete. You want more clarity, more depth, and a way of teaching that actually reflects how you see the body and this practice, rather than feeling stuck repeating what you were taught. You are ready for new inspiration, and ways to begin thinking outside of the box in your teaching career.

THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU IF

  1. You want to learn to teach yoga authentically like YOU, with solid tools and concepts, no formulas and scripts.

  2. You want to learn how to confidently and intelligently teach yoga with an experienced and caring teacher.

  3. You love yoga and want to deepen your practice and learn more about the entirety of it.

  4. You want to learn about the most relevant and up to date anatomy and physiology.

  5. You want a facilitator that will continue to support you after the course with structured post course mentorship.

  6. You wish to learn a modern approach to this practice that still roots itself strongly in tradition and self-inquiry.

  7. You love yoga and want to deepen your practice and learn more about the entirety of it.

  8. You like to ask questions and critique the status quo.

  9. You want to learn an embodied and movement based approach to the practice.

For those stepping into teaching.
and for those ready to evolve how they teach.

A NEW MODERN FORMAT OF YTT.

This teacher training format has been curated to get the best of both worlds: an immersive training experience while also fitting your studies into your busy life. The course will start with a six full day immersion (The Yoga Barn, Glasgow), followed by extensive and fully supported online study (Exploration), two days of consolidating the learning including assessment and graduation (The Integration), finishing with post-course six months of structured 1-2-1 mentorship included within the programme (Follow-up).

THE IMMERSION:

The course is running as an initial six days of immersive study in Glasgow Friday 2nd to Tuesday 6th October 2026. This gives the opportunity for you to step away from your every day life and immerse yourself fully in the practice of yoga. Expect morning practice, theory, group work, and a whole six days dedicated to teaching yoga.

THE EXPLORATION:

After your immersion you will be set up on an extensive online platform for you to study on demand and self paced over October - February. This allows then for you to fit your studies in around your every day life. On demand training content will be unlocked fortnightly and will include:

  • Lectures and presentations on in depth teaching methodology.

  • Thorough anatomy video tutorials.

  • Further resources and suggested watching and reading.

  • Weekly yoga classes and step by step class breakdowns.

  • Mini optional homework submissions with tailored 1-2-1 feedback.

  • Fortnightly zoom calls to consolidate learning and ask questions.

  • Lifetime access to the content after the course has finished to allow you to keep going back and re-absorbing.

THE INTEGRATION:

Following the exploration we will meet online Friday 5th to Sunday 7th March 2027 for three days to practice and study together. You will consolidate your learning, practice teaching, and do your final assessments and graduation.

How this training is different

This training is built around developing your ability to think critically, observe, and adapt. You won’t be given a formula for how every class should look because real teaching doesn’t work like that. Instead, you’ll learn how to make decisions, how to adapt what you’re teaching to the person in front of you, and how to create classes that are grounded in understanding, rather than repetition.

This training is also about unlearning and gaining fresh perspective. If you are an existing teacher that might be habits, cues, or ways of teaching that you have never had a chance to question.

Expect from the programme:

1. To become or grow your skills and knowledge as a teacher.

2. To teach all levels of yoga with creativity and passion.

3. Hybrid on demand learning to fit into your life.

4.. To advance the totality of your practice.

5. To navigate the business side of yoga so you can teach with savviness and longevity.

6. Considered feedback and tailored support

7. Structured six month long 1-2-1 mentorship after the completion of your studies.

8. A carefully considered and rich curriculum that provides depth.

9. Yoga anatomy that is up to date, in depth, and explores the beauty of the human body.

10. Practical and creative ways to teach yoga that are intelligent and relevant.

11. Yoga philosophy that is engaging and sharply linked to your life and the world you live in.

12. Meaningful conversations about the yoga industry and how you can make an impact.

13. Business of yoga that will make you excited from the get go to start sharing your offerings

ABOUT YOUR TEACHERs

I'm Alice (lead teacher, she/her), and my mission is to guide and empower you on your journey to becoming the confident yoga teacher you've always envisioned. Over the course of my 10-year career as a yoga teacher and anatomy specialist, I have cultivated a deep passion for empowering students through an embodied and intuitive approach to teaching. It is an honour to train people to teach yoga. Having worked with over 150 teachers to date I find this work of mine a joy and something that I don’t take lightly.

You can expect from me an energetic practise that sensitively balances precision and stability, and also fluidity and creativity.  My aim for students is to come away creating a greater sense of awareness, to explore new movement patterns, and to tap into a sense of embodiment and intuition.

As well as a yoga teacher, I am a lover of many styles of movement, and fascinated by the human body and its mystery. The type of student that is drawn to my trainings are open minded, curious and caring, lover of knowledge, and seeker of seeing different perspectives.

I am Ema, and I am specialist teacher of yoga history and philosophy (they/them) and I passionately believe that philosophy is sharply relevant to our lives. My classes are engaging, modern, practical, community driven, and fun. I study yoga through close reading, sanskrit recitation, discussion, kirtan, and embodied practice, and have recently begun my study of Sanskrit with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies in 2021. I have been passionate about yoga history and philosophy since the beginning of my yoga journey and run community driven monthly philosophy clubs. Through connection, curiosity and critical thinking I strive to bring yoga philosophy truly to life.

FAQS.

Is the training Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes it is. The training is certified by Yoga Alliance US so should you wish to register with YA as an RYT 200 (registered 200hr yoga teacher) with them after the course has finished, you can.

I am concerned my practice isn’t strong enough, do you think I am ready to do the course?

We care more about your willingness to relate to others and your enthusiasm to learn than the physical depth of your yoga postures. So long as you have a regular practice, are familiar with the foundational shapes, and are committed to learning more about yoga, then that is more important.

What do I need to do to prepare for the training?

The main things you prepare for the training is an open mind and a willingness to learn. You will receive a reading and podcast list upon sign up of the training which you don’t have to fully complete before it starts. Work through it at your own pace before, during and after the course. Keep practicing yoga regularly as you have been, and try out different classes and teachers if you can so you get a feel for different styles. But let it fit into your life.

I am pregnant, can I do the training?

Absolutely. Your teacher is specialist pregnancy trained and you can still partake in the practices. By the end of the course you will learn how to confidently adapt your yoga practice for both yourself and also pregnant students in general classes.
